“In the summer of 2023, Edna Nicole and Rev. Slim joined forces, blending her soulful voice and poetic roots with his Grammy-winning musicianship to create a sound that’s both timeless and fresh. Drawing from the rich soil of Mississippi Delta blues, gospel, funk, and soul, their music resonates deeply with audiences across generations. Rev. Slim, of Grenada, MS, grew up steeped in gospel, later honing his craft in music education before taking his talents around the world. With a vast catalog and a reputation for authenticity and humor, he bridges genres and generations through music, mentorship, and storytelling. Edna Nicole, a Clarksdale native, brings her passion for blues and community to every stage. Raised in a family rooted in activism, she channels resilience and identity through her music, championing both cultural heritage and the voices of women in blues. Together, they perform at festivals, host community shows, and lead classes in theory, songwriting, and production.” - Mississippi Arts Commission
