ABOUT THE CAC
Who We Are & What We Do
The Columbus Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching our community through the arts. Organized in 1965 and incorporated in 1971, we primarily serve Columbus and Lowndes County while drawing artists and audiences from Northeast Mississippi and Northwest Alabama.
Since 1997, we have been located in the Rosenzweig Arts Center in the heart of downtown Columbus. Our multifaceted facility includes exhibit and sales galleries, a gallery store, classroom space, and a stage theater. We present rotating exhibitions featuring regional artists, host free gallery openings, offer classes and workshops, and present live performances, lectures, and panel discussions.
We are also home to Suzuki Strings, the Columbus Arts & Culture Exchange Group, and the Possum Town Quilters’ Group. Through community partnerships, events, and educational programming, we work to foster creativity, connection, and a vibrant arts culture for all.
